Disgusted by the Fairfield decision

I am disgusted at the decision to close wards in hospitals all around the country to save money. In my own hospital, Fairfield in Bury, they plan to close children's wards including the special care baby unit. Even though I am only 12 years old I can see that this plan' is clearly not the right way forward, it may cost the lives of the children in the local areas. You may think this does not affect you today but it will tomorrow.  more...

Things seem to be going well, for a change!

Like most folk these days we find plenty to complain about. But there are some bright spots: We have found a builder who is honest, hardworking and who does a high quality job; he doesn't always arrive when he says he will - but when he doesn't, he always rings to explain. He is not cheap, but great value for money. He has done quite a few jobs for us in the last 12 months, some small, some fairly large - and more to come, The post now arrives at about the same time every day, before 9am. Brilliant.  more...
