A LAW practice in Bury is calling upon prospective MPs to weigh up the benefits of Legal Aid.
Bury Law Centre is urging politicians to set more money aside to provide legal help for the needy.
As a member of the 'Access To Justice Alliance', the centre is writing to all prospective Bury North MPs to press the case.
Bosses at the Knowsley Street practice say that Legal Aid is in a state of crisis, with growing numbers of clients unable to secure the services of solicitors.
Bury North candidates will be asked to back parliamentary measures that promote Legal Aid.
Practice manager John Nicholson said: "We will be asking the parliamentary candidates whether they understand the situation and what they will do about it. When legal representation is not available, it effectively means that some of the poorest and most vulnerable people in our society are effectively excluded from the courts."
